Reflection Symmetry of Motherhood

medium: Vandyke The Reflection Symmetry of Motherhood is a series of vandykes. The content of the images were created through the combination of MRI’s of my mother, sonograms of my own pregnancy, and Photoshop. I wanted to show how motherhood impacts the body using the reflection symmetry principle, which states a figure that does not change shape upon reflection follows this principle. Printed as a traditional vandyke processes using ferric ammonium citrate, tartaric acid, silver nitrate, fixer, and UV light. |
